Social Worker-Palliative Care Fellow - Texas Children's Hospital

We are searching for a Social Worker-Palliative Care Fellowship Trainee-- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will be a trainee of the Texas Children's comprehensive palliative care clinical services and interdisciplinary professional training services. This educational opportunity will prepare the fellow to provide specialized palliative care to seriously ill children and their caregivers, with an emphasis on advocacy. At the end of this fellowship, the social worker will be prepared to offer highly specialized, empathic care in palliative care and hospice settings, quality improvement, and education.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work required.
• Licenses/Certifications: LMSW(Licensed Master Social Worker), LMSW-AP (Licensed Master Social Worker -Adv Pract), or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) required within 2 months of entering role.
• Preferred Healthcare experience

Responsibilities:

• Develops and initiates the psychosocial plan of care
• Coordinates, implements, and follows up on the psychosocial plan of care.
• Participates in family meetings
• Pursues professional development.
• Participates in educational and development workshops.
