The Gender Health Program at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC) is a multi-specialty care center offering comprehensive gender-affirming care to transgender and gender-diverse individuals. After caring for many gender-diverse patients over the years, LHMC formalized the Gender Health services in 2022, and since then, the program has rapidly grown to provide medical and surgical services in a safe and affirming environment.
Our team includes a patient care coordinator, medical director, surgical director and a multidisciplinary steering committee dedicated to providing care to this patient population. With our program's rapid growth (highlighting the needs of the communities north of Boston), we are now looking for a dedicated behavioral health specialist. The clinician will work with our adult patients as they navigate their gender journey, offer counseling for underlying mental health condition, and provide support with letters for surgery, among other services. We are seeking an individual who will be working full-time between our two clinical locations in Burlington MA and Peabody MA.
Schedule:
• Full Time, in-person role preferred with hybrid possible, regular business hours, no call required
• Offices are in Burlington, MA and Peabody, MA
Important Details:
• Signing Bonuses are paid out in three payments. You will receive your first payment (one third of the total amount) upon completion of the first 30 days of employment. You will receive the second payment upon completion of six (6) months and the third payment (final of the total amount) owe upon completion of one year following your start date. The bonus payments will be paid on the next regular pay day following the date on which you become eligible for the bonus. All payments are subject to applicable taxes.
• Full time status at LHMC is considered for the schedules greater than or equal to 30 hours per week; part-time is 20-29 hours per week. Roles less than Full-Time will be prorated. Please note, per diem employees are not eligible for the signing bonus.
Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is now offering up to a $3,500 in Signing Bonuses for our Social Worker positions. The Social Worker position must have at least one (1) year of Social Worker experience to be eligible for the signing bonus.
To Be Eligible:
• Current and former BILH candidates - restrictions apply. Employees within the BILH system are not eligible for the bonus or if you have been employed by a BILH entity within the last 12-months.
• If you leave Lahey Hospital & Medical Center before your first anniversary you will pay back the signing bonus.

Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities / Duties/Knowledge
+ Preference will be given to applicants who have prior experience with integrated behavioral health, interdisciplinary teamwork, gender diverse individuals
+ Prior clinical experience working with gender diverse individuals, LGBTQIA+ competency
+ Knowledge of community resources and agencies that serve gender diverse individuals
+ Ability to identify community resources and agencies in relation to health, illness, and disability generally acquired through one to two years on-the-job training
+ Preference for independently licensed clinicians
+ Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to partner effectively with various healthcare professionals and to develop and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with patients and families
+ Comfort in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
+ Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team
+ Cultural sensitivity and humility
Other Responsibilities will include
+ Attendance at regularly scheduled quarterly LHMC – Transgender Health Steering Committee and administrative meetings
+ Attendance at relevant LHMC – Transgender Co-Directors meetings, Division of Behavioral Medicine meetings, and in-service education program offerings through the Division of Behavioral Medicine
+ Obtaining continuing education units as necessary to maintain licensure
+ Utilizing the hospital's behavioral standards as the basis for decision-making and to facilitating LHMC’s mission
+ Following established hospital infection control and safety procedures.
+ Maintaining patient confidentiality according to hospital policy
+ Practicing professional discretion when determining the inclusion of any patient information into medical record or other documentation
+ Complying with departmental, regulatory, and professional requirements for documentation recording, and data collection

+ Applicant should hold a master's degree from an accredited school of Social Work, school of Mental Health Counseling, or related field as determined by the Board of Registration of Allied Mental Health and Human Services Professions or National Certified Counselor (NCC) preparing for licensure as an LMHC Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required
+ Applicant should hold a Massachusetts License for Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or license as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW). For LCSW, a license can be obtained within 6 months of employment. For Pre-LMHC, status can be National Certified Counselor (NCC) preparing for licensure as an LMHC
