Key Responsibilities:
- Identify students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Conduct comprehensive social-emotional assessments for students referred for special education services.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to explain assessment results and recommendations.
- Engage with community organizations and mental health providers to coordinate services and supports for students and families.
- Provide resources and support to families to help them navigate the special education process and access community services.
- Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner and adheres to district policies and state regulations.
- Master’s degree in social work, social services, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania license as a social worker.
- Experience in a school setting or working with pediatric populations preferred.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in using technology for assessments and documentation.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move about the school environment.
- Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment as needed.
