PURPOSE OF JOB: The Early Childhood Exceptional Education Social Worker is responsible for providing school resource, services and counseling to students, staff members and families.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following.
- Assist families in the referral process.
- Assist families with enrollment paperwork.
- Collaborate with Early Childhood Department to assure completion of the enrollment process.
- Provide referrals to all social service agencies to students, families and faculty as needed.
- Participate as a member of school treatment team.
- Maintain accurate, complete and confidential files.
- Present staff in-service or arrange for such in services.
- Maintain and update current records on students as required by Kansas City Public Schools and the State of Missouri.
- Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s in Social Work
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Length of work year: 205 days; 7.5hrs/day, 5 days/week
