About the Job
Functions as a behavioral health clinician providing clinical services including diagnostic evaluation, crisis intervention, and short term therapy to adult population. Coordinates care with and provides consultation to internal medicine providers and other behavioral health clinicians.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Assesses needs of patients upon receipt of referral from internal medicine department staff.
- Immediately contacts patient to assess clinical needs and determine appropriate intervention.
- Conducts risk assessments and facilitates appropriate disposition as needed.
- Delivers brief therapy services when clinically indicated (1-3 visits).
- Coordinates referrals to services outside of Atrius in conjunction with behavioral health care facilitator.
- Attends site BH staff meeting and internal medicine staff meetings as indicated.
- Participates in Integrated Behavioral Health workgroups.
- May supervise social work interns and post doctoral fellows.
- Completes all documentation according to Atrius standard.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- May supervise social work interns and post doctoral fellows.
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in social work or mental health counseling. Current LICSW or LMHC in good standing. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
EXPERIENCE
Three years progressively autonomous experience with adult patients in behavioral health clinical setting. Experience as integrated therapist in medical practice group, individual therapy preferred but not required.
SKILLS
Demonstrated ability to assess patient needs, develop and implement a plan of care. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to show high level of sensitivity to patient needs and concerns. Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements.

Able to use all electronic tools and applications relevant to the performance of the duties of the position, including but not limited to phone, keyboard, computer and computer applications.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Busy office environment with frequent deadlines and interruptions. Need to be able to respond to requests for immediate consultation.
