About the Job
Social Service Director
Currently seeking a full-time Social Service Director. In this position, you will develop, coordinate, and implement psycho social programs and services for the residents. You will also provide a therapeutic environment in coordination with the facility psychiatrist guidelines that maintains each resident's highest level of physical, social, and psychological well-being and ensure the unit is in compliance with all state and federal guidelines.
Requirements
- Prefer a BS in Social Work or MSW.
- Prior experience in Social Service work in a long term care setting required.
- Ability to motivate, encourage residents; knowledge of how to adapt life skills to the cognitive and functional ability of each resident
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
- Competent in organizational & time management skills
- Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
- Knowledge of state and federal resident long-term care regulations
- Certification in dementia/Alzheimer's training is a plus
- Excellent communication, leadership and mentoring skills
