About the Job
We’re looking for a passionate music fan who loves festivals and gets excited by creating unique original content to join the Outside Lands marketing team.The Social Content Manager will be responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing social media strategies across multiple platforms to increase brand awareness, drive engagement, and foster community growth. This individual will work closely with marketing, content, and design teams to ensure all social media content aligns with the company’s brand, voice, and goals.
Social Content Manager [Contract]
Contract Seasonal (Jan-August)
Estimated Salary Range: $1,300-$1,450 / week
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development:
- Create and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase brand visibility, engagement, and growth on platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and others.
- Ensure all social media content aligns with the festival’s voice, mission, and overall marketing strategy, maintaining a cohesive brand presence across all channels.
Content Creation & Management:
- Develop and curate original content ideas (text, images, videos) that resonate with the target audience, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
- Work closely with the Creative Director on social asset development, providing direction and feedback as necessary.
Content Team & OTG Management:
- Create compelling and engaging content on site during Outside Lands weekend leveraging talent, influencers, photography and video.
- Oversee sourcing and hiring of House photography and video team, sorting their credentials, logistics and agreements and dictating shot list and content capture direction.
- Be the main point of contact for the House content team during the festival weekend.
- Manage deliverables for House content team, including receiving and reviewing photos, videos and sizzle reels.
Influencer Management:
- Support and assist the influencer relations team by reviewing proposed influencers, providing feedback and direction on the influencer brief, making influencer recommendations and reviewing influencer content before it goes live.
Community Engagement:
- Monitor and respond to audience comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Build relationships with followers and influencers, fostering a positive community atmosphere.
Campaign Management:
- Plan and execute social media campaigns, including paid advertisements, contests, and promotions, while tracking performance and ROI.
- Manage and maintain ongoing an editorial calendar that is shared with the marketing team.
- Work closely with and manage the Tradable Bits relationship.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Analyze social media metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns. Prepare tentpole campaign reports with insights and recommendations.
- Provide comprehensive EOY recap outlining what performed well, what didn’t and recommendations for improving and increasing engagement.
Trend Monitoring:
- Stay up to date with social media trends, tools, and technologies, adjusting strategies as needed to keep content fresh and relevant.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the content, creative, and product teams to develop compelling campaigns and initiatives that support broader marketing and business objectives.
Requirements
- 20-30 hr per week, with the ability to flex higher as the festival grows closer (June-August)
- Travel required to be on site week of the festival, through the festival weekend
- Attend weekly team meetings and one on ones as needed
Qualifications
- Experience & Abilities:
- 3 years of experience managing social media accounts for brands, ideally in the entertainment or experiential space
- Proven experience in successfully growing a brand’s TikTok presence
- Proficient with social media management tools such as Sprout.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for design and visual content.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Experience with paid social media advertising (e.g., Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, etc.).
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience in video production or graphic design
- Knowledge of SEO and digital marketing principles
- Familiarity with influencer marketing and outreach
- Familiarity with the Outside Lands brand and festival voice a plus
