Job Summary: The Technology division is seeking a highly skilled Snowflake Administrator to manage and maintain the Snowflake data warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Snowflake’s features, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Snowflake Environment Management: Administer and optimize Snowflake data warehouse environments, including setup, configuration, and monitoring.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize query performance, resource utilization, and storage management.
- User and Access Management: Manage user access, roles, and permissions to ensure security and compliance.
- Data Integration: Oversee data loading, transformation, and extraction processes.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to maintain data integrity and availability.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Resolve performance issues and provide technical support.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain system documentation and generate regular performance reports.
- Collaboration: Work with data engineers, analysts, and IT professionals for seamless integration.
- Best Practices: Stay updated on Snowflake best practices and industry trends, recommending improvements.
- Security: Ensure platform security by applying patches and updates.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years managing Snowflake environments. Familiarity with other cloud data platforms is a plus.
- Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture, features, and query optimization.
- Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.
- Strong SQL skills and knowledge of Snowflake-specific security features (e.g., access control, encryption).
- Scripting experience in PowerShell and Python.
- Experience in AWS cloud environments and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Database design and data modeling experience.
- Familiarity with data pipelines and automation using cloud and on-premises technologies.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Communication: Clear communication skills, able to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Skills:
- Snowflake certification (e.g., SnowPro Core or Advanced).
- Experience with T-SQL, DevOps, and scripting.
