Job Description
SMTS, PE Methodology/EDA Engineer
Mobile Solutions Business IP development team is looking for methodology expert(s) to customize design flows for the best accuracy and speed to meet demanding time-to-market requirements. The focus of this role is refinement of silicon design flows for RFFE products. The job involves evaluating new EDA tools, selecting ones that serves the needs of various silicon design teams, incorporating those tools seamlessly into product development processes, and training engineers in using those. This is a highly visible role with impact on all design activities in MSB. Ample scripting in SKILL or python for customization and automation is expected. The candidate work across many EDA platforms to address the needs for integration of multiple technologies in Skyworks complex products. The candidate will be a part of IP development team where she/he will manage Skyworks Mobile Solutions BU IP library to ensure it serves the needs of various silicon design teams. You work with IP and software teams to implement traceability and policing of IP usage in Virtuoso environment using a web-based application.
Job Responsibilities
• Act as the point of reference for design methodologies for RFFE products
• Define, build, and manage silicon design workflows
• Evaluate new EDA tools across various technology platforms to ensure interoperability and to aid design of complex RFFE modules
• Driving best practices for IP management and traceability across multiple design teams
• Standardize and centralize IP management and engage with design teams to promote usage
• Work closely with EDA team and systems administrators to integrate various EDA tools into a unified design flow
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of working experience in use and maintenance of EDA tools including Cadence virtuoso design and layout tools
- Familiar with analog, mixed signal and RF simulators such as Cadence Spectre and Xcelium, Siemens AFS and Symphony, Keysight ADS and GoldenGate
- Able to resolve common simulation problems such as no convergence, slow performance and accuracy issue
- Track record of devising new methodologies and/or integration of disjoint EDA tools into cohesive flow
- Proficient in scripting using Python and SKILL
- Experience with the Linux command line and shell scripting
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Preferred Qualifications
- Working experience with EDA tools for analog/RF circuits such as Keysight ADS and AWR
- Installation and maintenance of bug tracking tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla
- Experience with IP management tools such as DesignHub or Methodics
- Experience with Git and Cliosoft / Keysight SOS version control software
- Familiar with web APIs

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $126,500 - $241,700 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
