If you have some experience with employee benefits and have your Oregon Life & Health license, this new small group account manager role is for you.
My client is a full-service independently owned insurance agency in Portland, OR that has been in business for over 80 years. Due to growth, they are hiring a new Employee Benefits Manager to handle a book of clients with 2 to 50 lives. These are all current clients. You will handle renewals and take care of group service tasks. Best of all, they have no plans to sell out to any National Brokerages.
They offer career growth, paid continuing education opportunities, flexible hybrid scheduling, small out of pocket benefits costs, and a great work/life culture. The benefits department works in office on Tuesdays and Thursdays to allow for strong team communication with producers and teammates.
The agency uses EPIC, Employee Navigator, Excel, and Wired Quote. You will manage renewals from start to finish including spreading rates. This is all fully insured business.
- Key job responsibilities include: Retention of existing clients and assistance with the onboarding of new clients.
- Provides exceptional service to Leonard Adams clients while ensuring they receive services that align with their strategic goals.
- Collaborate with Agent to ensure the education of clients in their insurance program to ensure they have coverages that best fit their needs comprehensively. Recommend products / services to bridge any gaps in coverage.
- Process renewals, working closely with assigned Agent to remarket if necessary.
- Attend weekly Benefits staff meeting for team building and department strategies.
- Attend scheduled meetings with carriers to keep up to date on changes to their underwriting, coverages and/or processes.
- Respond promptly to client and carrier requests using email, phone, electronic fax and mail.
- Ensures all billing and billing questions are resolved.
Candidates need to have an OR Life & Health license and some experience working with employee benefits ideally in an agency or carrier setting.
