The Small Claims Specialist / Collector is responsible for the specific duties listed below.

Your specific duties will include:
- Contacting customers whose accounts have been charged off and are prepared for assignment to civil litigation or small claims actions.
- Obtaining suitable arrangements to address the deficiency balances of these accounts.
- Representing the Bank in all small claims proceedings involving unresolved accounts, with the goal of securing judgments, settlements, stipulations, or payment plans.
- Reaching out to borrowers regarding delinquent, charged-off, or judgment accounts to collect deficiency balances. This includes arranging for monthly payments, signed settlements, or lump-sum payments.
- Conducting skip tracing and locating addresses for the service of legal process.
- Acting as a liaison with process servers to ensure timely service prior to court hearings.
- Reviewing all active judgments to identify assets, employment, and banking information in order to obtain abstracts, writs of execution, bank levies, or wage orders.
- Must have knowledge of FDCPA & understand/operate within those guidelines.
- Experience in small claims appearances, procedures, documentation, and court proceedings.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a MUST.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.
- Must be able to travel to court locations throughout Southern California.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
