Under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Director, through training and knowledge the technician is mainly responsible for technical and patient care related to Polsomonographic and Electro-diagnostic testing. Such PSG and EEG testing include set-up and calibrate monitoring equipment, applying appropriate electrodes, monitoring patient safety, performs physiological calibration verifying patient maneuvers and records. Provides necessary clerical support to ensure timely and accurate scheduling, charging, logging, copying, distribution and retention of testing date. May be responsible for cross training to other areas of Cardiology Services.
Responsibilities:
1. High School education or equivalent required.
2. Experience as a polysommographic technologist preferred – prefer board eligible
3. Experience as a electro-diagnostic technologist preferred – prefer board eligible
4. Full-time Tech’s must become registered by BRPT within 3 years of full-time effective date.
5. Basic EKG experience preferred.
6. BCLS required within 6 months.
7. Basic computer knowledge preferred.
8. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people.
9. Must have the ability to work independently and organize several projects.
10. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
11. Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
12. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
13. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
14. Required lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds.
