POSITION SUMMARY:
Supervisor for Sleep, Neurophysiology, and Pulmonary Clinic works in collaboration with the Manager, Director, Medical Director, physicians, mid-level providers, and staff members to plan, direct, and evaluate technical and clinical staff patient care and support services.
This role is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of day-to-day activities of all departments of oversite, including planning, organizing, scheduling, and monitoring workload.
They are involved with quality assessment of testing and monitoring, hiring, training, development of strategic goals and objectives, performance appraisals, staff development, and staff discipline when appropriate.
The Supervisor collaborates with other departments and leadership to ensure standards for productivity, patient care, employee performance, cost effectiveness, and customer satisfaction are met.
The oversee continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Required:
- HS Diploma
- Completion of sleep disorder testing training program.
Preferred:
- Associate degree in healthcare or related field
- Registered Sleep Technician or Registered Respiratory Therapist
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Current registration by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists required. Annual BLS certification required.
Required:
- CMS recognized certification as a Registered Sleep Technician or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) must be obtained within two years from date of hire.

Preferred:
- R. EEG. T. credential
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Demonstrated leadership skills. Excellent communication, organization and critical-decision making skills required. Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization and community. Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
Required:
- Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare setting
Preferred:
- 2 years healthcare leadership experience
- Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Two (2) years of experience in performing neurodiagnostic procedures
- Two (2) years of experience in performing all direct care duties as a sleep technician
