Skating Director
Under the supervision of the General Manager, supervises the entire scope of Skating Program and Coaching staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Practices excellent customer service
- Recruitment of skilled coaching staff
- Scheduling and supervision of coaching staff
- Communicates clearly and professionally with staff and patrons
- Answers emails and returns phone calls in a timely manner
- Executes policies and procedures professionally and accurately
- Maintains a clean and safe environment
- Educates the public to the habits and attitudes of safe ice activities
- Establishes student programming through lessons, workshops and camps
- Develops and implements Basic Skills competitions, ice shows, and exhibitions
- Actively recruits new skaters and lesson participants
- Accurately registers students and evaluates placements for skating instruction
- Accurately records student and course information and prepares certificates
- Attends scheduled staff meetings
- Provide all marketing material to GM for approval before distribution
- Responsible for completing all tasks assigned in a timely manner
- Performs any other related or similar duty as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS
Work is performed in several settings:
- An office environment
- A recreational facility
- Working indoors and outdoors
- Some off-site promotion
- Facilities which include ice rinks include working on ice
- This position can involve sitting, standing, walking, running, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and ice skating.
MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED
Standard office equipment that includes computers, fax and copy machines, telephones, and cash registers. Maintenance and cleaning equipment that include ice resurfacers, ice maintenance equipment, skate sharpeners, vacuums, mops and any other equipment associated with use in a recreational facility.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Comprehensive understanding of figure skating levels and requirements
- Familiarity with ISI and USFSA skating programs
- Member in good standing with PSA
- Extensive skating background
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
