POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Sixers Youth Foundation, the nonprofit affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, is seeking experienced and enthusiastic individuals to be Brand Ambassadors for our 50/50 Raffle Ticket Program. Proceeds from the raffle program will benefit the Foundation’s partnership with non-profit organizations in the Greater Philadelphia Region to serve young people across three key areas — quality extracurriculars, academic enrichment, and safe play spaces.
Ticket Representatives are responsible for selling raffle tickets during each home game and will be trained to use the 50/50 software and devices. Sellers are expected to be self-motivated, outgoing, reliable, must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, must be team-players, and must possess excellent communication skills. Experience in sales is a plus!
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW:
- Approach fans pregame and in-game to explain the details of the 50/50 Raffle program and offer the opportunity to purchase tickets
- Understand the mission of the Sixers Youth Foundation and effectively communicate and deliver information regarding the Foundation’s charitable endeavors
- Accurately handle the sale and distribution of the tickets via designated handheld devices
- Arrive to scheduled shifts on time and ready to engage with fans
- Demonstrate a positive attitude when interacting with fans and other employees
- Work a majority of Philadelphia 76ers home games
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to work 75% - 80% of Philadelphia 76ers home games each month during regular and post season with expectation of working nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary and with commitment of at least one Friday, Saturday, or Sunday game per month depending on game schedule
- Experience in sales and customer service is a plus
- Desire to learn about non-profits, fundraising, public relations, public speaking, and sales is preferred
- Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Must be comfortable independently working in large groups of fans
- Must wear uniform when working (shirt provided): black sneakers and black pants
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work Environment: This position requires that work be performed from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA
- Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to stand and move for entire shift (approximately 4-6 hours). Must be able to move throughout the arena (the concourse and/or sections) and interact with fans
