Sanitation Manager / Site Sanitation Leader

Reporting to the Site Leader and functional reporting to Corporate Sanitation, as the Sanitation Site Leader you will provide hands-on and support leadership to the sanitation team on all shifts to ensure all related tasks are performed properly. This includes cleanliness of the plants and external premises, all equipment machinery and utensils in the production processes. You will be responsible to ensure all sanitation team leaders and team members follow FGF’s health and safety guidelines along with food safety guidelines while completing their tasks.

Primary Responsibilities :
- Lead by example and foster an environment of safe work, mutual respect and teamwork with team members.
- Follows BRC, GMP’s, Food and Health and safety regulations and compliance with internal practices and external policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Conduct pre shift Huddles and provide goals for the shift, provide feedback to the team members.
- Coordinates all Sanitation activities to accomplish sanitation practices according to sanitation standard operating Procedures (SSOP’s) and training of team members.
- Maintain daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual and yearly sanitation records including master sanitation schedule and record keeping of Sanitation program.
- Provide appropriate coaching and training received by Sanitation personnel. Provide team members have adequate tools to perform their tasks safely and correctly.
- Provides input on staffing levels and participates in sourcing and interviewing candidates.
- Assists and monitors labor requirements to balance staffing levels and overtime costs.
- Compliance to all safety and environmental regulations are achieved and provides direction to team to accomplish these goals.
- Maintains SSOP’s in accordance with FGF guidelines on a quarterly basis and yearly training. Yearly chemical training conducted by chemical supplier. Yearly GMP, Safety, and FGF policy training for all team members.
- Assists in the auditing of Sanitation SSOP’S, Master sanitation schedule and all internal and external audits.
- Assist in new product development huddles and launches.
- Trains team members on chemicals, how to and when to wear PPE and how to disassemble, clean and reassemble equipment in sanitary manner.
- Performs Pre-Op inspections on all equipment, to verify cleaning effectiveness, sign-off and release back to Production.
- Ensures all sanitation paperwork and documentation is completed on a timely basis.
- Schedule the team members schedule for the week and make changes to schedule when needed. Communicate to effected team members.
- Ensures all chemicals used in cleaning processes are mixed with the proper solution according to suppliers’ specifications and that all chemicals are locked, and inventory completed weekly.
- Perform evaluations and disciplinary action for sanitation team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Leadership Team.
Required Experience:
- 4 years of experience in sanitation environment (food/bakery experience is desirable) or related field/
- Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, along with simple mathematical abilities
- Strong knowledge of GMP’s, SSOP’s HACCP, SQF BRC, OSHA, city regulation and familiarity in food manufacturing setting
- Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a sanitation issue or concern
- Familiar with internal and external audits to include City and state inspections
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, have multitasking skills and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Ability to workdays, afternoons, nights, weekends and holidays if needed
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Post-secondary education an asset
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
