Join our dynamic team as a Safety Manager and make a significant impact on our organization's safety culture. In this role, you will play a crucial role in coaching site operations leaders and driving the implementation of policies, procedures, and programs to enhance employee safe behaviors and eliminate hazards/unsafe conditions. Your expertise and leadership will shape a culture of safety excellence throughout our organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and drive the implementation and ongoing compliance of our Corporate Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System.
- Facilitate, conduct, and advise on training initiatives, including the development of effective training materials.
- Take charge of investigating all high actual/potential incidents and oversee the root cause and corrective action processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant local Safety legal and regulatory requirements, as well as any company-specific standards that surpass regulatory mandates.
- Serve as the technical expert and champion the implementation of our corporate Safety software systems, supporting compliance activities, tracking and reporting Safety performance metrics, and managing the action management process.
- Provide support for medical and industrial hygiene programs, collaborating closely with Human Resources and Operations teams on pre-employment fitness for duty and return-to-work evaluations.
- Manage the site's environmental program, including permits, waste management as per the Environmental Aspects and Impacts register, SPCC/Emergency response, regulatory reports, inspections, and more.
- Collaborate with workman’s compensation; employees on leave because of workplace injuries and illnesses.
Qualifications
If you have a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline: Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environment, Health and Safety, Chemistry, or Biology along with 8 years of relevant experience in an Safety role, joining Chromalloy is a great career move. In addition to your education & experience, as a team player you will also have the following skills:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in the environmental, health and safety discipline with a strong focus on safety required. At least 5 years of working in a manufacturing environment as a safety professional is required. Experience in aerospace or aviation is preferred.
- Advanced certifications, these may include Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) NEBOSH Certification, etc.
- Strong technical and regulatory expertise in environmental, health and safety regulatory requirements as well as knowledge of and/or implementation experience with applicable industry standards including but not limited to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, etc.
- Ability for strong collaboration and proactive and creative problem-solving.
- Ability to communicate and obtain buy-in for EHS vision, strategy, and local plan.
