Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced MEP Site Manager with a strong mechanical specialization to oversee mechanical systems’ implementation and ensure seamless project delivery of a mission critical data center site in Reno, NV.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Systems Oversight
- Lead and oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other related systems.
- Ensure that all mechanical work is executed according to design specifications, project requirements, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with design teams to review and validate mechanical designs, shop drawings, and specifications.
2. Site Management
- Manage day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflows and resolve on-site issues promptly.
- Monitor material deliveries and inventory to prevent delays in project timelines.
3. Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure mechanical installations comply with project specifications, local codes, and safety regulations.
- Identify potential risks or issues in mechanical systems and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of site activities, inspections, and mechanical systems testing.
4. Communication and Reporting
- Act as the primary point of contact for all mechanical-related aspects of the project.
- Provide regular progress updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Prepare and present mechanical status reports, including any challenges and proposed solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering AND a minimum of 8 years of construction experience OR a minimum 10 years of experience in MEP or related roles in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of experience managing mechanical systems in high-tech, semiconductor construction; data center construction projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, as well as applicable codes and standards.
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with construction safety protocols and regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, or similar).
- Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or fire protection systems (e.g., LEED, ASHRAE) preferred
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
