Are you passionate about EHS in the manufacturing industry? Do you have a knack for identifying potential hazards and implementing effective solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Site EHS Manager to join our team. The EHS Manager will play a critical role in our operations, ensuring the safety and health of our employees, as well as the environmental sustainability of our facilities. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment and is responsible for the compliance of all environmental health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures.
2. Monitor compliance with safety procedures, conduct safety inspections and audits, provide safety training, and manage the hazardous material disposal process.
3. Develop and implement programs to reduce and eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses.
4. Manage all aspects of our hazardous waste management program, including waste segregation, collection, transport, and disposal.
5. Oversee stormwater management program to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
6. Coordinate and lead the Safety Committee, ensuring the identification and assessment of potential hazards.
7. Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance, working closely with all levels of the organization.
8. Coordinate all dealings with contractors, state agencies, and insurance carriers.
9. Manage record keeping of incidents and accidents and prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory agencies.
10. Provide coaching and guidance to the site team regarding EHS best practices and potential risks.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of EHS management experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and hazard controls; OSHA certification preferred.
4. Experience with hazardous waste management and stormwater management.
5. Proven experience in delivering safety training programs.
6. Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
7. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage others.
9. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is a plus.
10. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
