GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting in the development, planning, and implementation of the simulation-based experiences within the college and hospital. Functions under the direction of the Simulation Center Director.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
2. *Assists in the day-to-day operation of the Simulation Center in planning and implementation of simulation-based experiences according to policies, standards and available resources.
3. *Provides assistance in set-up and teardown of simulation-based experiences.
4. Responsible for programming, testing, on-going maintenance, warranties, and upgrades of simulators, equipment, and operating systems.
5. Provides technical support and training in the use of simulation equipment.
6. Orders and maintains inventory of simulation supplies.
7. Participates in collecting and analyzing evaluation data regarding outcomes of simulation-based experiences.
8. Assists to ensure the Simulation Center is in accordance with institutional policies and safety regulations.
9. Maintains confidential environment and respects privacy of all participants.
10. Adheres to the International Nursing Association Clinical Simulation & Learning’s Standards of Best Practice: Simulation.
11. Demonstrates continuous professional development by maintaining expertise related to the position.
12. Involved in strategic planning initiatives for the Simulation Center under the direction of the Simulation Center Director.
13. *Assists in ongoing systematic evaluation activities as assigned.
14. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
15. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
16. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Maintains clinical competency as required for the unit including but not limited to age-specific competencies relative to patient’s growth and developmental needs, annual skill competency verification and mandatory education and competencies.
2. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.
3. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
4. Ability to perform crucial conversations with desired outcomes.
5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff.
6. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills.
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.
8. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.
9. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree in healthcare or technology preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Preferred degree may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience with computer technology and simulation experience preferred.
OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
(Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.)
