The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring for the following Long-term position in the Pasadena, Texas area:
SHOP SCHEDULER/PLANNER
Experience with Rotating Equipment (Turbines, Pumps, Compressors, etc.) required.
This position is responsible to serve in a primary scheduling position with planning needs from time to time, with all efforts geared to work progression and costs. Primary goal is to assist in tracking work progress, preventing work delays caused by incomplete planning, client delays, emergency jobs, non-available material and/or improper craft loading.
1.1 Major Duties and Responsibilities
1.1.1 Coordinate with Project Managers to define the time frame for work to be done.
1.1.2 Prepare and maintain an evergreen project tracking chart of work, updated on a daily basis and shared with Project Managers.
1.1.3 Obtain daily work status updates from Shop Manager.
1.1.4 Track all emergency work as it arises and determine what impact it may have on current project deadlines. Report findings to Project Managers.
1.1.5 Assist Project Managers, when requested, in preparing scopes of work for each job, provide each workstation with necessary drawings, material lists and location of materials.
1.1.6 Identify any special permit requirements needed to complete the project task.
1.1.7 Coordinate the purchasing of materials and rental of the equipment needed, when requested.
1.1.8 Assure that material and equipment needed to perform work is onsite when needed.
1.1.9 Maintain a complete log of project tasks that includes but is not limited to project tasks numbers, job description, date received, date work began and completed, date project tasks is closed, approved expenditures and actual expenditures.
1.1.10 Serve as backup to Project Managers when requested for vacation relief.
1.1.11 Experience with work tracking programs, such as Microsoft Projects and/or Primavera
1.2 Physical Demands
1.2.1 Strength Level Light
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work:
- When it requires walking or standing to significant degree.
- When it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or
- When the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required.
