We are seeking a Shop Manager to oversee the operations of our small, highly-custom millwork studio.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge in cabinetry/millwork fabrication and installation, leveraging shop equipment, technology, and materials to produce high-quality outputs.
- Actively seek and secure work for the shop, developing project-specific, detailed cost, and schedule estimates that align with our commitment to sustainability and innovation.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive schedules for all shop jobs, ensuring alignment with project-specific estimates and detailed short-term look-ahead schedules.
- Efficiently manage Shop Carpenters, scheduling to standard hours and managing overtime as necessary to meet project demands.
- Oversee the procurement of project-specific and general materials and tools, ensuring production proceeds uninterrupted and inventory is managed efficiently.
- Schedule and oversee routine maintenance of shop equipment and facilities, prioritizing a safe work environment and minimizing project delays.
- Update and maintain estimates, tracking and forecasting costs and time with precision, ensuring all client invoicing is prepared with the most current information.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, seeking solutions to improve project schedules, reduce costs, and enhance quality without assigning or avoiding blame.
- Ensure timely processing of subcontractor, vendor, and supplier payments, and manage shop personnel timesheets with accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in shop management, specifically within cabinetry/millwork fabrication.
- Strong understanding of high-performance and healthy materials/design strategies.
- Exceptional ability in project management, scheduling, and cost estimation.
- Advanced computer skills to support work management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and demonstrate care for clients and team members alike.
- Commitment to safety, with regular participation in safety meetings and enforcement of safety policies.
Salary and Benefits:
- Full Time
- Base salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
