Summary:
The Shipping Technician/Crate and Pallet Builder will create shipping labels, shipping materials, shipping containers, tracking, and ensure that all contractual labeling is accurate.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Provide their internal customers with correct products and services, on time.
- Create, communicate, and accomplish daily department schedules.
- Build (from scratch) wood crates, pallets and boxes
- Keep Work Orders and associated documentation with each part throughout the manufacturing process and provide documentation to their internal customer.
- Retain part traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
- Keep Cetec order location data current and correct.
- Primary duties include preparing package shipments for loading. Ensure shipments are labeled correctly for accuracy and shipping documents are accurate. Establish dimensions for entry into Excel spreadsheet and ERP system.
- Follow processes as outlined in pertinent HCOA Operation Procedures or Work Instructions.
- Prepare packaged shipments (boxes/crates/pallets) to be ready to load with identification, labels, packing slips and markings to size, material and any other pertinent data as dictated by contractual requirement.
- Complete weekly inventory.
- Establish weight and dimensions to build the box/crate required - update the weights and dimensions in Excel spreadsheet daily and ERP system.
- Handle and cut to size several different types of wood, cardboard, and foam using industrial saws, drills, knives, and other tools.
- Daily and weekly preventative maintenance on tools and equipment used for the shipping process.
- Complete Daily packaging schedule provided by Manager/Supervisor
- Ensure work areas are clean and free from Foreign Object Debris.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Experience in building (from scratch) wood crates, pallets and boxes
- Must be able to read a tape measure and operate a band saw, table saw, and power drill.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and willingness to learn basic functions in the company's ERP system.
- Basic Computer knowledge to work with programs to look up order details and instructions
- Must be able to follow established written methods, procedures, and ability to multitask, Training will be provided.
- Forklift experience a plus, but not required (training provided)

Physical Demands/ADA Compliance:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit and use hands to operate telephone and operate computer and mouse. The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and bend and twist neck.
The employee may be required to successfully pass the HCOA Respirator Qualification program as an essential job duty due to exposure to particulates and fumes. Employees may be required to stand for a full shift while wearing full PPE in a heated environment. Must be able to lift up to 100lbs (ranges from 10lbs. to 100lbs.). Ability to pass DOT Drug Testing requirements (49 CFR Part 40).
starting at $20 an hour
Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm with occassional overtime. Monday through Friday. Onsite only.
Background and Drug test required.
