Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for managing the incoming and outgoing flow of goods in the warehouse as well as overseeing the Shipping and Receiving Team. Your main responsibilities will include unloading trucks, verifying inventory against paperwork, packing orders for shipments, maintaining accurate records of all transactions, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace in compliance with all applicable legal and food safety requirements.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the shipping and receiving department.
- Coordinate and schedule all inbound (oil, packaging, parts, deliveries) and outbound (finished product) shipments to meet demands. Point of contact (POC) for carries, scheduling loads, port, 3PL outbound loads.
- Ensure accurate and timely loading and unloading of products.
- Maintain a schedule of shipments, including be prepared with necessary tools and verification steps, to minimize delays and costs.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Create pick lists within JDE and effectively execute shipping processes in computer system.
- Generate reports on shipping and receiving activities, identifying areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with logistics team to optimize transportation efficiency.
- Manage the routing and scheduling of shipments to minimize delays and costs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any shipping-related issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular inspections to guarantee compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Implement and maintain best practices for a safe and sanitary working environment.
- Provide training and development opportunities for shipping and receiving team.
- Monitor and evaluate shipping and receiving team performance, addressing any issues promptly.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Operate, record, and maintain scale weights. Operate as point of contact (POC) for vendors.
- Responsible for dock and ship within JDE.
- Manage the charging, upkeep, and repairs of forklifts and powered equipment. Operate as point of contact (POC) for vendors.
- Manage the barrier gates, fences, and programming/operations for the fencing and perimeter. Operate as point of contact (POC) for vendors.
- Manage the trash, recycling, and waste pickup/removal. Operate as point of contact (POC) for vendors.
- Manage the West exterior side of facility, including nitrogen room, compressor rooms, heating and cooling tower for the compressor, dumpsters, scales, fences.
- Serve as backup for manufacturing and operation supervisors.
- Adheres to the highest standards of company and plant safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations.
- Always abides by Certified Origins Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Standards.
- Maintains general housekeeping in all areas assigned by plant leadership.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Required to lift a maximum of 50 pounds on occasion.
