Position Overview
This role supports Shipping & Receiving operations and provides administrative support to the planning & warehousing department. The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is the primary contact for inbound and outbound truck drivers, visitors, and team members from various Gehl Foods departments.
Job Responsibilities
- Be the main contact for trucking companies in planning and executing inbound/outbound shipments over the phone, email, and in person.
- Manage documentation of all inbound/outbound shipments, returns, and any exceptions that occur.
- Work with trucking companies and other business partners to address any concerns on damages, shortages, or other issues.
- Communicate unloading and loading needs within the Planning & Warehousing team and any exceptions as needed.
- Be a super user for the Ross ERP system within the department for shipping, receiving, inventory, and order management functions.
- Ensure order fulfillment is completed using FIFO (First in First out) inventory management.
- Utilize Smart Bill, Savanna, and other systems to perform daily job functions.
- Work with Customer Service, Inventory Control, and other teams to assist with inventory and product availability inquiries.
- Operate the AS/RS system as needed.
- Utilize the Transportation Management System in scheduling and executing inbound/outbound shipments.
- Communicate with third party warehouses as needed.
- Provide administrative and technical support for the department including generating reports, creating spreadsheets, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
- Ensure job functions and department are compliant with all Food Safety, Quality, Legal, and any regulatory agency requirements.
- Drive a forklift to ensure proper material handling.
- Participate in cross-training and backfill other positions in Warehouse as needed

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Education, GED, or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use various computer systems, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Warehouse and Inventory systems, etc.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrated organizational, detail orientation and observational skills
- Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and related software, ideally Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints
- Basic mathematical calculation skills
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions in the English language
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, often with limited supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity
Preferred Qualifications
- Past experience using an AS/RS storage system.
- Experience working in Food & Beverage or other regulated industry with high-quality standards.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principals.
- Have the physical ability to regularly lift/carry/push/pull up to 60 pounds, stand, walk/move about, occasionally climb, sit, and frequently squat/bend/kneel.
