Job Summary
We are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk for our client who is a full-service marketing agency with an internal apparel decoration shop. They deliver high quality products with excellent customer service quicker than most in the industry. They offer companies around the globe a single source for all their screen printing, embroidery, banner, sign, and promotional needs. The Apparel division specializes in the printing and embroidery of T-shirts, Performance Shirts, Jackets, Hats, and Promotional Items. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing product shipments. Their duties include unloading delivery trucks and checking incoming shipments against product invoices, sales orders, and packing lists. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is also responsible for organizing and storing shipments until they receive outgoing order requests and notifying management personnel when they don’t have enough of a particular product to fulfil orders. A successful Shipping & Receiving Clerk will have basic warehouse knowledge, accurate counting and math skills, and the ability to regularly lift at least 40 lbs. This position requires high attention to detail, and basic understanding of computers and shipping software.
Shift: Monday – Thursday(8am – 5:30pm) & Fridays(8am – 12pm) with NO weekend hours – Hours subject to change depending on growth and needs of company.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, documenting any discrepancies.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing products securely and labeling them correctly for delivery.
- Utilize RF scanners to track inventory levels and update the warehouse management system.
- Operate forklifts and reach trucks to move products safely within the warehouse.
- Maintain an organized storage area, ensuring that all items are stored in their designated locations.
- Collaborate with other departments to fulfill e-commerce orders efficiently.
- Assist with inventory counts and audits as required, ensuring compliance with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) processes.
- Support order picking processes to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly.
- Properly accounts for the location of incoming goods.
- Assures no damaged items are sent to production or received.
- Compares packing lists to company purchase orders and ensuring that the product in each delivery matches the packing list.
- Collaborates with the Screen-Printing Supervisor and Operation Manager to develop a schedule for picking and staging orders for production.
- Records product inventory as products are received in the inventory software.
- Packages products for returns to vendors and fills out necessary paperwork. Keeps an organized and tidy workspace.
- Prepares boxes for shipping, ensuring all orders ship on time and tracking is uploaded into the ShopWorks system.
- Labels boxes according to order number, customer, and design prior to production.
- • Picks and prepares orders for screen print to keep production flowing.
- Weighs and measures outgoing shipments and fills out appropriate paperwork.
- Helps other departments when needed, especially catching at the end of the dryer and heat press.
- Pays close attention to Work Orders to eliminate possible errors and misprints.
- Travels between company warehouses to pick up products needed for production.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving roles is required.
- Proficient in operating forklifts, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Knowledge of e-commerce logistics is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Comfortable using RF scanners for inventory management.
- Must be able to lift packages weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean Driver’s License
- Good at math and counting
- 1+ years of experience in warehouse or receiving department
- Detail-oriented
- Computer skills with knowledge of various data entry and inventory software preferred
- Experience operating heavy machinery a plus
- Quality communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to sit, stand, crouch, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time
