Job Summary:
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for organizing and overseeing the efficient and accurate shipping of poultry products from the processing plant to customers, distributors, and retailers. This position involves managing inventory, ensuring timely shipments, and maintaining accurate documentation for all outgoing goods in compliance with company standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
· Review orders and shipping requests to ensure all required products are ready for shipment.
· Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and track outgoing shipments.
· Provide product information, including nutritional details, availability, processing options, and delivery terms.
· Update inventory systems and coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure the proper packaging of orders.
· Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels.
· Maintain accurate records of all shipped orders, including shipment dates, quantities, and destinations.
Quality & Food Safety Compliance:
· Work with the quality control team to address customer concerns related to product quality and ensure that issues are resolved in accordance with company standards and food safety regulations.
· Follow health and safety guidelines, especially in relation to poultry handling, packaging, and transport
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in shipping, warehousing, or logistics, preferably in a food production or poultry processing environment.
- Familiarity with poultry products, food safety standards, and transportation regulations is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and work in a warehouse or cold storage environment.
- Frequent typing, using a computer mouse, and other repetitive tasks involved in data entry, answering calls, or processing customer orders.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a fully operational poultry processing plant, with typical conditions including exposure to temperature-controlled environments, operational noise, and potential allergens.
