Primary Care Physician - Aptive

Job Summary

Aptive Resources is seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Care Physician to join our team at the Fayetteville VA Medical Center. As a Primary Care Physician, you will provide comprehensive family practice consultative services to Veterans in a team-oriented outpatient setting. Your responsibilities will include assessment, diagnostic work-up, clinic intervention, and patient education.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including health history, physical examination, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Provide patient education on preventive care, treatment options, and management of chronic conditions.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests as appropriate, and recommend treatment plans or referrals.
• Record and document all patient encounters, including health appraisals, clinical assessments, treatment decisions, and plans of care, utilizing the electronic comprehensive patient record system (CPRS).
• Ensure timely completion of all documentation on the day of the patient encounter.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and facilitate seamless transitions between primary care and specialty services.
• Maintain compliance with VA policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
• United States citizenship.
• Certification in VHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Board certification by the American Board of Family Practice.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in family practice within the last five years.
