SHIFT MANAGER
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Shift Manager provides leadership and assistance to the General Manager to ensure that all team members are guest-focused, and community-connected. They may have additional responsibilities of training, inventory management, hiring, etc. They work with the General Manager to achieve objectives in sales, costs and team member retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Proactively handles all staff and guest requests or concerns quickly, fairly, and
with care.
* Ensures that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
* Assists the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
* Ensures that all food and products are consistently prepared and served
according to the Hurricane Grill and Wings recipe and standards.
* Maintains proper inventory of bar items.
* Reports all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the General
Manager.
* Has working knowledge of bar cost and how to affect it.
* Schedules labor as required by anticipating business activity and ensuring that all positions are staffed as needed.
* Manages staff performance with clear feedback, recognition, reviews, coaching/teaching and discipline.
* Identifies and develops staff members for future leadership roles.
* Fully understands and complies with all regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements.
* Holds self and staff accountable for attitude, behavior, results and Hurricane
Grill and Wings standards/systems.
A strong candidate will possess the following characteristics:
* Minimum 21 years of age
* High school equivalency, College Degree preferred
* Previous supervisory and hospitality industry experience required
* Minimum of 2 years of FOH/BOH management experience
* Proven track record of success as an Shift Manager
* Proficient communication skills in English (verbal and written)
* Proficient communication skills in the language of the kitchen staff
* Possesses excellent basic math and writing skills and has the ability to operate a computer and POS system
* Knowledge of Aloha skills would be beneficial
* Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
* Must be Food Handler Certified
