Shift Maintenance Technician III - Liberty Diversified International, Inc.

POSITION SUMMARY  

The Production Maintenance Technician serves as a key member of the Maintenance team and the assigned Production team and is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment. Working and collaborating with other team members, the Production Maintenance Technician will safely perform work activities to maximize long term machine use and efficiency. 

This position will work weekend nights - 3x12s (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Perform maintenance work activities safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, align, and maintain industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and circuits.
• Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic systems, control devices, hydraulic equipment, and components.
• Use pipefitting skills to cut, fit, weld and install piping throughout the facility.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance routes, inspect equipment condition, and report any issues.
• Perform planned maintenance as scheduled.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance during routine and extended outages.
• Log and report issues and provide feedback for long-term machine use/efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs including labor hours and critical preventative maintenance findings.
• Provide input on critical spares based on overall risk.
• Assist in the development and implementation of reliability/precision centered maintenance strategies.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with operators while troubleshooting equipment.
• Apply problem solving methods to identify root causes and eliminate failures.
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and drawings.
• Actively pursue technical skill development by attending training, onsite or offsite, and through on the job experiences working with other skills and experienced staff and contractors.
• All other duties as assigned.

STANDARD DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Perform work on a rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Observe and enforce all company personnel, quality, and safety policies.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively & cooperatively with coworkers, contractors, leadership teams, etc.
• Conduct work in a safe manner, in compliance with OSHA, company policies and procedures. Recognize and act on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practice and enforce safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization.
• Actively participate in facility committees, events and/or meetings (i.e., Community Involvement Team, Environmental and Safety committee, etc.).

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS  

• 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience required; Pulp and Paper industry experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate with technical specialists and to interpret technical/blueprint drawings and specification documents.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS  

• Electrical / instrumentation knowledge and experience.
• Experience with PLCs (RSLogix 5000, Siemens S7, Valmet DNA).
• Experience with VFDs (Allen-Bradley, ABB, Siemens Micro Masters).
• Experience using a cutting torch and welding with arc welder and fabrication.
• Experience with Systems integration. PLC, HMI, Networking, Communication & Power distribution
• Ability to communicate with technical specialists and to interpret technical/blueprint drawings and specification documents.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with great follow-up skills and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Strong decision-making ability, including the ability to anticipate problems, develop contingency plans and act quickly to resolve issues.
• Adaptable to changes in business requirements in a fast-paced environment.
• Relationship Builder – works with all levels within the organization; professionally represents self and LPI to external contacts.
• Ability to communicate with technical specialists and to interpret technical/blueprint drawings and specification documents.
