RESPONSIBILITIES: Our shift leader has an overall responsibility to lead a team of like-minded, remarkable individuals. Not only will you serve and educate the guests about our products, but also the health benefits associated with each nutrient-rich recipe in their mission to live a better, happy life. The shift leader will also be responsible for creating a positive environment for peers and guests’ alike daily.
- Sets a positive example for the team and has clear communication with the entire team.
- Provides an exceptional customer service experience to all customers
- Discovers and responds to customer needs (including complaints).
- Motivates and directs team members to exceed customer expectations with fast and friendly service in clean surroundings.
- Ensures compliance with all food safety laws and sanitation regulations.
- Assist GM with enforcing and maintaining all procedures and policies of Pura Vida at the store level.
- Responsible for covering all shifts and supporting stations.
- Able and willing to close the restaurant as needed, by following all closing procedures.
- Responsible for organizing, scheduling and supervising shifts of team members.
- Organizing shift schedules for team members
- Monitoring attendance, tardiness and time off
- Assigning duties to specific employees based on role and skills
- Supervising employees and assisting with tasks as necessary
- Conducting performance reviews and sharing feedback with both upper management and team members
- Managing employees requests and transgressions
- Training new and current team members on tasks
- Handling customer issues and managing conflicts
- Adhering to company policies and health, safety and employment standards
- Other duties assigned
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum 1 year experience in customer service in a hospitality environment (i.e. restaurant, hotel, etc.)
- High School Diploma or GED required, 2 years of college preferred
- Minimum 2 year experience in management in a hospitality environment
- Ability to organize and prioritize
- Local/municipal requirements, such as Food Handler certification, acquired at applicant’s own expense
- Experience with guest services management and demonstrates leadership abilities
- Must be able to frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read and write in English
