JOB SUMMARY:
A shift leader will be required to be cross trained in all crew level job positions and maintain a working knowledge to supervise the execution of these positions and to aid in the orientation and training of new team members to these positions. The Shift Leader works with the Restaurant Management Team to ensure all activities are consistent with and support the restaurant’s business plan.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must have an outgoing and positive attitude in dealing with guests.
- Carry a friendly, energetic, personable demeanor and have a passion for great customer service, with a customer-first and quality-focused mentality.
- Ensure that we provide a quality product to all guests with quick and friendly service.
- Ensure to immediately notify the General Manager of all issues or complaints from customer and staff
- Ensure guest engagement. Checks on Guests at the table to ensure our service and enjoyment standards are delivered.
- Share your knowledge with others to encourage and champion teamwork and operational success
- Build brand dedication through outstanding service
- Coordinate all cash handling policies and procedures
- Respond quickly and effectively to all emergency situations
- Coach in the moment when standards are not being met and celebrate when they are
- Be encouraging of your team even with the seas are rough. Help where you are best needed and celebrate successes
- Mentor the general staff in the absence of Shift Manager
- Ensures shift staffing is correct and takes corrective action as necessary.
- Must be willing to assist all other positions when necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 0 - 3 years of server, cashier, line cook, prep cook or combination of experience in a restaurant or customer service establishment.
- Hardworking, professional dedication, strong interpersonal communication skills, and strong teamwork spirit
Education / Qualifications:
- High school diploma, or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience or working knowledge of restaurant operations
- Food Handler Certificate as required by local standard
- Fluent in English / Preferred languages: Mandarin and Spanish
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, deliver and/or serve items weighing up to 20-40 pounds throughout an eight-hour shift
- Ability to balance serving tray when transferring for food order
- Ability to stand and walk continually throughout an 6-8 hours shift
- Ability to bend, stoop and reach for products and items
- Ability to work to various temperature environment, for example low temperature in the refrigerator and high temperature in the cooking area
- Ability to clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
- Ability to work in loud areas, for example, the music for special performance and/or loud noise from the dishwasher machine
- Ability to attend work as scheduled, working various schedules and shifts throughout normal business hours
- Ability to meet the needs of the restaurant and support hours of operation.
