Shift Leader Position Description: 

The Shift Leader is responsible for directing an efficient workflow and assisting the Store Manager in a variety of store operations duties.  This position serves as a role model of barista responsibilities and serves as the team leader when the Store Manager is unavailable. The Shift Leader is considered a manager in training, whether it be for assistant manager or store manager. 

Essential Duties:

• Ensure consistent and quality customer experience by executing brand beverage recipes and techniques, resolving customer relations issues, and leading the team in delivering the Scooter’s “Amazing†customer service experience 
• Maintain speed of service standards during high-volume periods by staying calm, managing an efficient team workflow, anticipating customer needs, and utilizing downtime to prepare for the next rush 
  
• Assist the Store Manager in onboarding and training new team members 
  
• Develop effective working relationships with team members, identifying individual motivation factors 
  
• Proactively seek opportunities to increase individual and team sales 
  
• Understand and execute cash handling, point of sale system, and operational procedures in an accurate, consistent manner 
  
• Ensure team members follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines 
  
• Serve as a keyholder, following all opening and closing procedures 
  
• Demonstrate punctuality, dependability, and adaptability 
  
• Assist Store Manager with administrative duties as requested

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred
• Extensive training and willingness to pursue excellence in learning about drink preparation and food offerings
• 2+ years of experience in Customer Service preferred
• 5+ years of Food and Beverage supervisory experience preferred
• Food Handlers Certification or willingness to obtain a Food Handlers Certification

Pay: Negotiable

Schedule: Flexible

Location: San Antonio

Working Conditions:

Work indoors most of the time, but may occasionally work in outdoor setting. Often wear a special uniform or dress according to dress code. Work very nery coworkers and customers. May exposed to hot temperatures. May kneel or stoop to reach ingredients or equipment.

Barista Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple duties
• Ability to raise, lower and carry objects up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout a day
• Ability to stand in an upright position without walking more than three consecutive steps occasionally
• Ability to walk more than three consecutive steps for extended periods of time
• Ability to hear, see, and speak within a loud environment
• Ability to stoop and climb occasionally throughout a day
• Ability to work with hands on one- and two-handed activities constantly throughout a day
• Regular and predictable attendance
