Handel's Ice Cream is seeking a dedicated and motivated Shift Lead to join our team. The Shift Lead will oversee daily operations during their shift, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient staff management, and adherence to food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for ice cream, and a commitment to maintaining our brand's reputation for quality and service.

Job duties

• Team Leadership:
• Supervise and support staff during shifts, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and communication.
• Conduct training for new employees on operational procedures and customer service.
• Customer Service:
• Ensure all customers receive exceptional service and that their needs are met promptly.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints effectively.
• Operational Oversight:
• Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with company policies and health regulations.
• Assist in managing inventory levels and placing orders for supplies as necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including the ice cream display and seating areas.
• Cash Management:
• Oversee cash handling procedures, ensuring accurate transactions and deposits.
• Assist with closing procedures, including reconciling cash drawers and preparing daily reports.
• Sales and Promotions:
• Support store management in achieving sales goals and implementing promotions.
• Encourage upselling and cross-selling of products to enhance the customer experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a leadership role within the food service or retail industry is preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• A passion for ice cream and a customer-first attitude.

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
• Comfort working in a cold environment.
