About the Job
A highly respected law firm, dedicated to advocating for workers’ rights, is seeking a Settlement Attorney to join their Class Action department. This is a great opportunity to play an integral role in finalizing terms and negotiations for plaintiff class and PAGA settlements, while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Finalize the terms of class and PAGA settlements, converting Motions of Understanding (MOU) into long-form settlement agreements.
- Negotiate and finalize settlement terms with defense counsel, and assist in drafting motions for preliminary and final approval of class action settlements.
- Draft supporting declarations for settlement approval motions.
- Collaborate with settlement administrators to finalize the settlement administration report and ensure successful execution of settlement terms.
- Communicate with clients and third-party administrators to coordinate necessary information and ensure the smooth execution of settlements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
- 0-2 years of experience in finalizing settlement terms, including MOUs and long-form settlement agreements.
- Experience in drafting motions for preliminary and final approval of class action settlements.
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
