About the Job
Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a Service Writer to join our Equipment Department. The Service Writer will support the Service Manager by assisting in the daily operations of the service department. Key responsibilities include scheduling equipment repairs, tracking maintenance work orders, invoicing, and performing related data entry for all completed repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work Order Management:
- Initiate and manage repair orders, input technician notes, review for accuracy, and obtain approval for repairs on company-owned assets above designated thresholds before finalizing.
- Scheduling:
- Schedule vendor repair appointments and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Database Management:
- Ensure the vehicle and equipment database is current, tracking daily vehicle mileage, hours, and heavy equipment usage.
- Records Maintenance:
- Update repair and maintenance records with the latest service and preventive maintenance (PM) status.
- Coordination with R&M Personnel:
- Work with the Repair & Maintenance team to ensure timely servicing and communicate planned maintenance with vendors and job sites.
- Monitoring Progress:
- Track the progress of actual versus planned maintenance and repairs for light vehicles.
- Support Service Manager:
- Assist in scheduling work, answering repair-related questions, and advising on repairs within established guidelines. Review technician time postings for accuracy.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Apply industry terminology for accurate service writing, estimating, and parts requests.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Support the service manager in ensuring the shop complies with government regulations, safety guidelines, and company policies, while keeping manuals and other resources up to date.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Experience in purchasing and sourcing parts/materials is a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive and equipment industries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project is desirable.

Pay: $30.00-$32.00 Based on Experience
