Overview
Milton CAT is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as a Service Technician and Yard Coordinator. This combined role involves the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, as well as performing various yard-related duties such as loading and unloading equipment, fueling machines, and maintaining the organization of the yard.
Pay Rate: Starting wage up to $34.64 / hr with equipment experience.

Responsibilities
- Maintain heavy equipment and components.
- Order replacement parts ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
- Prepare, inspect, and operate machines prior to delivery.
- Install, test, and adjust new machine attachments.
- Maintain rental fleet equipment.
- Keep up to date with developments in tooling, technologies, and systems.
- Prepare inspection and appraisal reports.
- Prepare accurate and complete service reports timely.
- Maintain a professional and proper personal appearance at all times adhering to company policy.
- Flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs.
- Perform yard-related duties such as loading and unloading equipment, fueling machines, general maintenance, tracking and organization of heavy equipment, and performing equipment inspections.
- Coordinate and track all shipping and receiving of equipment within the yard.
- Organize and inventory yard ensuring a safe working environment for both customers and employees.
- Perform final inspections on machines ensuring a quality, clean, and work-ready machine is delivered.
- Adhere to all company and department safety policies and procedures.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.
- Associates degree in a related field.
- 1-3 years’ experience on CAT heavy equipment or similar equipment.
- Proficient in the use of a computer and related software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced service environment.
- Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
- Experience with loading and unloading various types of earthmoving machines (e.g., Backhoe, Dozer, Excavator, Skidsteer, etc.).
- Ability to drive and operate a forklift, boom lift, scissor lift, etc.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
