Service Tech Manager
Join Comfort Systems USA MidAtlantic, LLC, a leader in HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing services since 1970. We’re seeking a Service Tech Manager to lead and support our HVAC and plumbing field technicians in South Boston, VA. You’ll collaborate with the Service General Manager to train, supervise, and ensure quality service, while maintaining safety and efficiency for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training & Development: Develop and lead structured in-house training programs for HVAC and plumbing technicians, ensuring they stay current with the latest industry technology and best practices.
- Field Oversight: Perform field quality checks, conduct safety audits, and review completed work to ensure compliance with safety protocols and customer satisfaction.
- Scheduling & Dispatching: Work with the dispatcher to organize technician schedules based on workload and client needs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Performance Management: Oversee technician performance, handle timecards, conduct performance appraisals, and provide coaching and mentoring. Address complaints and resolve issues as needed.
- Team Leadership: Coach and guide employees who are not meeting company objectives, and when necessary, implement disciplinary measures, including terminations.
- Fleet & Equipment Management: Ensure service vehicles are properly stocked and maintained, and schedule regular fleet maintenance to avoid downtime.
- Technical Support & Problem Solving: Assist technicians in resolving complex technical issues, offer guidance in the field, and provide support to the service sales team by preparing proposals and answering technical questions.
- Customer Relations: Serve as a point of contact for customers, responding to special requests, resolving issues, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and propose improvements to processes, services, and workflows to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of HVAC experience, with 3+ years in a supervisory role
- Strong leadership, communication, and technical skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internal software systems
- Journeyman’s License or Master’s Card preferred
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
