Service Technician - Columbia Ancillary Services, Inc.

Description of Responsibilities

The Service Technician is responsible for delivery of, and education in the use of, home medical equipment to client/patients of the Company.

Scope of Supervision

Responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative include the following:

1. Representing the company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with client/patients.
2. Schedule and deliver home medical equipment and supplies to skilled nursing facilities including third party payers.
3. Deliver bed mattresses, oxygen, bath aids, tanks, Tele-healths, and other home care equipment to VA and Medicare clients.
4. Demonstrate and explain HME equipment in the client's home and obtain appropriate documentation.
5. Obtaining proper paperwork needed for delivery including distributing the color folders with a thorough explanation of documents in the folders.
6. Repairing delivered equipment in the field and in the warehouse.
7. Understanding of all regulations from DOT, FDA, and Joint Commission.
8. Loading and unloading of trucks.
9. Checking deliveries received in the warehouse to ensure orders are correct and no damage to deliveries.
10. Logging complaints from patients and facilitating follow up.
11. Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle; keeping it stocked with needed supplies for day to day activities.
12. Maintain equipment tracking and lot number tracking for oxygen and solutions.
13. Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.
14. Complete monthly truck inventories and assisting with warehouse inventory as needed.
15. Entering equipment obtained from a homebound patient or skilled nursing facility into a log book for repair/cleaning.
16. Participate in training classes and in-services when provided.
17. Participate in Company committees when requested.
18. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
19. Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the General Manager.
20. Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required in accordance with Company policy.
21. Perform other duties as assigned by General Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Effective interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
3. Valid driver's license and clean driving record for the past three years.
4. One year of home medical equipment experience preferred.
