- The Security Apprentice Technician utilizes strong troubleshooting, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills for on-site installation, service, maintenance, warranty, and repair on critical security infrastructure related equipment such as CCTV, cameras, intrusion, access & perimeter controls, and surveillance. We are offering to train the right person who wants to move up into a technician position within the company.This individual is safety-oriented and works independently reporting directly to the Service Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality and timely support to our valued customers by responding to issues or general inquiries onsite, over the phone or online
- Work with qualified Technicians to gain knowledge and skills relevant to the position
- Service and maintenance on various vehicle barriers, operated bollards, operated gates, and other security related equipment
- Communicate and document all maintenance and repair service calls/tasks/projects daily
- Ensure job site, vehicle, tools, and equipment are clean and maintained
- Organizational and time management skills
- Computer, internet, and software knowledge
- Cognitive functions and problem-solving skills
- Research, analysis, report development, and documentation skills
- Analytical and assessment skills
- Helpful but not required knowledge and skill in:
- High Voltage Electricity Safety (Recognizing when to contact an electrician)
- Low Voltage Electricity Safety
- Electrical Theory
- Sensor Calibration
- Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs)
- Mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Networking systems (TC/IP Protocol)
- Troubleshooting skills of vehicle barriers and gate systems
- Guidance to end-users for solving problems
- Safety practices when working with barriers
- Traffic patterns and safety procedures when working around moving vehicles/traffic
- General construction processes
- Access Control and IP Cameras
