About the Job
The Automotive Technician at Volkswagen of Akron, Ohio is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles. This is a full-time, hourly position in the automotive industry with a focus on skilled labor and contractor work. As a part of the team, the Automotive Technician will work independently and contribute to the overall success of the service department. The rate of compensation for this position is up to $40 per hour.

Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to identify vehicle issues
- Conduct routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
- Repair or replace faulty parts, such as brakes, engines, and electrical systems
- Follow manufacturer repair procedures and guidelines
- Utilize electronic diagnostic equipment and tools to diagnose and repair vehicles
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle issues and repairs
- Keep detailed records of all work performed on vehicles
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Automotive Technician
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions
