About the Job
This employee compiles ordered pharmaceuticals, supplies, DME equipment, and oxygen. This employee also makes accurate and timely deliveries of all items to patients' homes.
• Completes appropriate home safety evaluation and patient/caregiver education related to ordered equipment and supplies
• Performs equipment setup, orientation, and demonstration of the safe operation and use of HME
• Transfills home cryogenic vessels (HCV) and may transfill oxygen cylinders
• Assists in general warehouse duties such as but not limited to stocking, rotating inventory, receiving, shipping, and processing equipment and supplies
• Coordinates with the Area/Facility manager to oversee the daily operations of the branch as it relates to compliance with all operational policies and procedures with delivery, inventory, and warehouse
• Ensures proper regulatory compliance is maintained as it pertains to FDA, ACHC, DOT, and HIPPA
• Delivers and sets up DME equipment and instructs patients on the basic use
• Completes all necessary paperwork including route sheets, work orders, Medicare documents, and all other related paperwork
• Loads and unloads DME equipment, oxygen, and medical supplies onto delivery truck and ensures it's properly secured and organized
• Assists with hiring, coaching, performance appraisals, and disciplining of subordinate staff
• Assists with daily supervision of departmental staff
Education/Experience:
• High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred
• Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Possess a current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous Materials Endorsement (H) and a good driving record
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must have a current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card or be able to pass the required physical examination
• Must participate in random drug screening program as required by DOT
• Have a working knowledge of the delivery service area and route planning
• Two years of related experience is preferred
• Should be familiar with safe handling and transport of compressed medical gas
• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Must be available to work flexible hours and rotate on-call responsibilities
• should have knowledge of Word Processing Software and ability to use mobile devices such as a smart phone
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
