Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility – MO CP Factory Service Center is searching for a qualified Service Repair Technician / Engineer. The position is factory based in Alpharetta, GA. Service Repair Technicians are responsible for providing high quality evaluation, troubleshooting, repair and testing of rail motors and gears in a factory and field environments.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Ability to provide detailed inbound inspection of unit and notate accordingly.
- Ability to safely utilize and maneuver lifting devices, cranes, jigs and assembly stands.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic/mechanical drawings, diagrams, specifications, assembly procedures, work orders and bills of materials to determine material requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform mechanical disassembly and assembly of motor and gears.
- Test repairs per documented guidelines to ensure that units meet quality specifications and tolerances.
- Timely completion of all safety training and support Zero Harm Culture.
- Timely and accurate reporting and documentation (hours, component usage, repair reports, expense statements).
- Ability to write a detailed failure report and provide photos as necessary.
- Ability to work safely in a high voltage test environment.
- Ability to work effectively in hybrid factory and field environment, requiring travel up to 10% of the time.
To thrive in this role, you have:
3+ years experience in a similar role
Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Attention to detail.
Immediate knowledge of computers and software applications.
Knowledge of basic lean principles and techniques for optimizing processes & eliminating waste.
Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and procedures.
Ability to work autonomously or in a group environment.
Ability to work in a fast pace, ever changing environment of service requirements.
Possess strong communication and active listening skills.
Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate.
Understands 6S methodology and maintains a clean and organized work environment
Ability to lift 35 lbs.
Meet education requirements in one of the following:- Associate Degree in Electrical or Mechanical field
- Vocational Certification in related field
- Apprenticeship Certification in related field
- Two years of work experience in related field.
Experience with using balancing machine, induction heaters, dial gauges, micrometers as well as electrical & bearing insulation resistance equipment.
Prior component repair and troubleshooting experience a plus.
Experience with troubleshooting electrical equipment a plus.
German language skill is a plus.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

The base salary range for this position in Alpharetta, GA is $60,700 – 71,300. **The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
