About the Job
Service Coordinators support Laboratory Testing teams in a variety of areas from securing test materials, coordinating services internally/externally and providing support across internal and external stakeholders. This role is largely a customer service and administrative support function as well.
Education/Experience:
Required
- High school diploma or GED required
- High level of Customer Service presence
- Capability to multi-task
- Ability to partner with Scientific Staff and External Clientele
Preferred (not required)
- Exposure or working experience within a Laboratory setting
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate Laboratory studies, tracking sample transfers between multiple buildings
- Experience with coordinating Microbiological or Chemistry based studies
- Ensure accuracy in order verifications using CRM and handle customer-specific purchase orders
- Regularly communicate with customers via email and maintain strong working relationships across departments
- Assist customers with updating purchase order forms, including billing addresses and payment terms, in the system
- Collaborate and assist customers in completing purchase order forms
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding sample shipments, test status, and order changes
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional lab environment, occasionally in extreme temperatures involving incubators and freezers, and may involve walking on uneven surfaces. It regularly requires the use of standard office and lab equipment, such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, and hand tools.
The possibility exists for exposure to biological and chemical hazards, exposure to carcinogenic compounds and other environmental aspects, which may be considered unfavorable. Employees are expected to follow Biosafety and Chemical Hygiene policies, practices, and procedures.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 8 hour day shifts
- Standard Business Hours
- Fully on-site

The physical demands described here are a representation of those that must be met to perform the essential job functions:
- Spend 60% of the day seated or at a computer and 40% standing or moving between office and lab.
- Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, and moving pallets.
- Occasionally push and pull with one or both hands.
- Wear personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, lab coats).
- Lift or move up to 45 pounds.
