About the Job
A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a new Service Coordinator for a promising opportunity. In this role, the Service Coordinator will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centered Rapid Re-Housing and Homeless Prevention services to low-income individuals and families who are experiencing homeless and housing instability.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Temp to Perm
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate operations as part of the program management team in the LI Continuum of Care, providing regular updates to community stakeholders at P1 meeting
- Support program implementation efforts across the full service region (NYC and Long Island)
- Develop the Service Coordination team schedules, assignments, target dates and other aspects of assigned work
- Provide program and professional supervision and work with staff to address areas of improvement and opportunities for professional development
- Monitor outcomes and delivery of core supportive services and referrals (e.g., Housing Stability Plans, Service Coordination that follows a Progressive Engagement Model, income support services, referrals for essential services such as legal aid, healthcare, etc.)
- Assist with accreditation reviews, monitoring visits and program audits
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and following through on issues in a timely manner.
- Assist in the implementation and development of best practices in the field
- Maintain a small caseload of participants, as needed
- Conduct fieldwork up to 40% of the work week, including home visits, VA and shelter meetings and other community-based work
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources and/or a related role
- Associate's Degree
- Proven expertise in Program Management and Trauma-informed supervision of staff, managers and program operations
- Microsoft Office proficient
Desired Skills:
- 2+ years of experience in a Supervisory role
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources
- Experience working with low-income individuals and families; cultural competency and sensitivity in working with persons from diverse populations
- Experience navigating the complex service systems targeted to low-income families and veterans
