About the Job
As a Service Technician with Hamilton Medical, you will have a direct impact on patient care by performing high quality repairs of electromechanical systems in medical devices. You will communicate directly with customers and prove that they are in good hands. This role manages its own workflow, so a successful Service Technician is self-motivated, able to work independently, and takes initiative by moving equipment between workstation and racks, documenting service, and following up with customers. Feel a sense of accomplishment knowing the devices you repair will go back into service for humans in need.
Essential Functions
- Perform repairs, calibrations, and preventative maintenance of Hamilton Medical ventilation products in a service center environment.
- Provide professional, courteous technical phone support for customers nationwide.
- Work closely with customers, sales teams, and clinical staff to provide ongoing support pre- and post-sale.
- Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment, including an oscilloscope, flow analyzer, electrical safety tester, and/or gauges.
- Report problems and perform root cause analysis on instrument failures.
- Provide accurate and timely documentation of service performed.
- Help Service Coordinator track and expedite depot repairs.
- Adhere to quality assurance standards and practices while following good manufacturing practices (GMP).
- Always maintain a safe and orderly work area.
- In very rare cases, overnight travel may be necessary to support large projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, listening, and written), including the ability to interface effectively with customers.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Dedicated to quality.
- Occasionally exert up to 75 pounds of force; frequently exert negligible amount of force; frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Preferred
- Basic understanding of ventilation.
Required
- Associate degree in electronics, biomedical electronics technology, or certificate from accredited electronics school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
- Experience working in a service center and/or production environment.
- Experience using an oscilloscope, flow analyzer, electrical safety tester, and/or gauges.
- Previous hospital or biomedical experience.
