Position Summary: Provides technical expertise and leadership coordination to customers and employees through effective utilization of materials and labor. |
Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to): · Assists Service Center Manager in carrying out goals such as maintaining and increasing productivity, enhancing quality, improving manufacturing processes and procedures, troubleshooting and maintaining production and auxiliary equipment, coordinating maintenance issues, assuring customer satisfaction in terms of product, service, quality and delivery, etc. · Operates all equipment within scope of responsibility. · Trains coworkers and new employees in proper methods and procedures. · Exercises judgment in effectively and efficiently repairing and rebuilding valves and associated equipment. · Disassembles, cleans, rebuilds and tests valves. · Recommends repair/replace options. · Uses precision measuring devices such as micrometers, veneers, calipers, etc. to measure parts and products accurately to print or specifications. · Inspects and tests valves and parts for defects and compliance with specifications. · Coordinates production and service requirements with purchasing and scheduling. · Assures proper inventory levels. · Properly cleans and maintains tools, equipment and property. · Works from verbal and written instructions, diagrams and drawings to disassemble, repair and assemble valves and parts. · Participates actively in Operational Excellence and Quality processes including project team involvement, problem solving, and recommending solutions to enhance and improve the quality of departmental and/or company-wide business activities. · Performs other work as assigned. |
Essential Qualifications / Experience: · Strong verbal and written communication skills. · Strong organizational skills. · Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints. · Ability to use and maintain measuring tools. · Knowledge of advanced shop mathematics may be needed. · Ability to operate material transporting equipment -- eg., forklift, hand jacks, cranes. · Ability to sustain moderate physical effort, working with light to medium weight material. Lifting, bending, carrying and twisting are common but not repetitious. Concentrated mental and visual attention in planning, laying out and performing complex work to very close tolerances required. High degree of physical and mental dexterity and visual attention for sustained period also required. · Ability and willingness to work extended hours as needed. · High school education or equivalent trade school training and/or experience. · Minimum one year machine shop trade experience. · Communication and Working in and/or Leading Teams Skills training, a plus. |
