About the Job
SERVERS – RESTAURANT AND BAR
Provide food and beverage service to guests in a timely, efficient and friendly manner
Job Tasks
- Sets up station and performs assigned side work
- Greets guests within 30 seconds upon seating
- Suggests and serves beverages from the bar
- Informs guests of specials and menu changes
- Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy
- Takes food and beverage orders. Informs chefs or bartenders of special requests.
- Places orders from POS system to appropriate food and beverage stations
- May ice glasses, add garnishes or other ingredients
- Serves food and beverages in a timely and friendly manner
- Checks back to ensure guests satisfaction. Replenishes beverages, rolls, butter as needed
- Removes empty plates, glasses, etc as required after each course
- Consistently follows all revenue control procedures
- Verifies accuracy of prices, state and federal taxes, tips and other charges on all bills
- Presents bills to guests
- Handles all cash, credit card and checks as prescribed by standard operating procedures
- Keeps assigned tables, internet café area and waitress station areas clean at all times
- Advises supervisor of complains as they occur
- Attends staff meetings as required both pre shift and other
- Consistently complies with all state, local and restaurant laws/policies relating to the service of food and alcohol
- Is familiar with all menu and beverage items and can answer guests questions.
- Is familiar with other restaurant functions and services and can answer guests questions
- Suggests and serves dessert, coffee and after dinner drinks
- Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
- Performs clean up and closing duties as assigned
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers when necessary
- Be ready and willing to assist busperson with clearing and setting tables
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant
- Rotates shifts in cashier and internet café areas
Reports to: Restaurant Manager if serving restaurant guests
Bar Manager if serving bar guests
Supervises: No supervisory duties
Qualifications:
· Ability to communicate and understand the language
· Must have excellent organizational skills
- Possesses basic math skills and have the ability to handle money,
count change and work a cash register & POS system
· Be able to work in a standing position for long periods
· Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently
weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds
· Have a friendly disposition
