Hotel Polaris is seeking an exceptional Server to join our team and play a vital role in shaping the success of Hotel Polaris, an instant icon on the hospitality landscape of Colorado Springs. Responsibilities:- Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests.
- Set tables according to service standards.
- Answer questions on menu selections to guests.
- Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recooking orders, and product availability.
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
- Record transaction in POS system at time of order.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day.
- Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights and fire pit, looking all doors etc.
- Present physical and accurate check – 2 copies to guests and process payments.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
- Run food and bus tables when you find extra time.
- Anticipate and address guests` service needs.
- Speak with others using clear and professional language.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goals.
- Be responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area as well as the general property.
- Subscribe to proper grooming, dress and uniform standards as set forth by company policy.
- Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the employee handbook.
- Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes at Hotel Polaris.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
- At least one (1) year food & beverage experience preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess valid TIPS card upon hire.
- Must possess valid Food Handler’s card upon hire.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
