Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to show our guests a world class dining experience and introduce them to the culture and heritage of the restaurant, demonstrate best in class hospitality through exceptional service detail.
Activities & Responsibilities:

- Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Preston’s Steakhouse: To provide a total dining experience where each guest is engaged, individually, resulting a feeling of being wanted and recognized. Our mission is to enrich the lives of our guests, our employees and owners. We do this through providing superior quality food and beverages, legendary customer service, sales growth, cost controls and treating our employees like family.
- Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.
- Guide guests through our food and beverage menus, showcasing our daily food and beverage features, and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
- Explain to guests how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
- Answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
- Suggestively sell and take food or beverages orders accurately from guests.
- Enter orders accurately into POS for transmittal to kitchen and bar staff.
- Check guests’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests within timing periods detailed in steps of service.
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests. Always seek to honor the guest request whenever possible with a “yes first” approach.
- Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable).
- Be ready and willing to enthusiastically assist fellow servers as situations arise, with a “guest first & yes first” approach.
- Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment, never prioritizing sidework over assisting a guest.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings as scheduled and offer suggestions for improvement.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure excellent guest service standards and efficient operations.
- Demonstrate a competent and agreeable work ethic.
- Interact with all guests and employees with respect, professional pleasantries and courtesies.

Qualifications:
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
- Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
- Possess basic math skills and can handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
- Complete Title IV liquor training to ensure knowledge of responsible serving of alcoholic beverages compliant with AZ state laws.
- Develop competent and agreeable work ethic.
